## What it does

- Records the whole screen, one window, one browser tab, or a region you drag out.
- Composites a camera picture-in-picture in any corner, with adjustable size.
- Mixes microphone and system audio into a single track.
- Exports MP4 by default, plus WebM and GIF; MP4 can be produced after recording via WebCodecs when the browser has no native MP4 recorder.
- Saves every take to a local library, so recordings can be exported later without re-recording.

## What it does not do

- It does not upload, stream, or back up recordings anywhere.
- It does not require an account.
- It does not set cookies and does not run cross-site trackers. Page views are counted with
  Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is cookieless and aggregate only.
- System audio capture depends on the browser; Chrome and Edge require ticking
  "Share audio" in the screen picker.

## How it works (technical)

Capture uses `getDisplayMedia` and `getUserMedia`. Compositing (camera overlay,
region crop, resolution scaling) happens on a `<canvas>` painted by a timer, not
`requestAnimationFrame`, so the picture keeps updating while the recorder tab is
in the background. Output goes through `MediaRecorder`; GIF export uses a local
GIF encoder and MP4 fallback uses WebCodecs plus a local muxer. Files are stored
as Blobs in IndexedDB. After the first load a service worker keeps the app usable
offline.
